Catriona Sharkey – Partner

Catriona works in our Real Estate team advising public and private sector clients on all aspects of commercial and residential property transactions.

Catriona has extensive experience advising leading developers, investment funds, lenders, state bodies and private clients in both residential and commercial acquisitions and disposals and has significant experience in dealing with large volume portfolios. Catriona leads the team within the firm acting for investment funds and state agencies in the acquisition of residential property portfolios for onward sale and leasing to local authorities and approved housing bodies.

In the area of real estate finance, Catriona advises both lenders and borrowers on the property aspects of banking transactions and real estate security requirements and has acted for many of the country’s leading development finance providers.

Catriona also regularly advises both landlords and tenants in relation to all aspects of landlord and tenant law. She regularly advises on commercial lettings to include negotiating both short term and full repairing and insuring lease and has acted for several years for a large international bookmakers in various acquisitions and management of its existing real estate holdings in this jurisdiction.

In tandem with her work in real estate, Catriona has considerable experience managing high value complex claims in the Commercial Division of the High Court and Court of Appeal and acting for developers in Judicial reviews of planning decisions including strategic infrastructure development applications.
